![]() The Banished are brutal space mammals that eat humans, show us that. The open world needs to feel like an open world. ![]() The soldiers need to curse and be a bit more like the guys from Aliens. H:I needs to have repayable missions and it needs teeth. Too many variables prevent it from happening.Ĭampaign opinion. Nobody likes seeing their favorite anything die or lose it's identity, but after being a part of this community for the last 20+ years, I really can't see how it'll ever bounce back and reach the highs it used to. There's too much lost time and a reputation that is 6ft under to really course correct and get Halo back on track to continue what was quite literally set up for 343 all those years ago. Not to mention all of those features launched with the game. Bush was still president just to reference how long ago that was. Things like File Share and Bungie Favorites really made Halo 3 feel like a platform where everyone had a voice and chance to share user content with the rest of the world.ģ43 failed to continue building up the social framework with the changing times and here it is 11 years later and we're begging for features that became normalized when George W. Only social media that was reputable at the time was MySpace and that was way different than what we view as social media nowadays. all blew up and changed how social interaction works. In the case of Halo 3, people my age used that game as a form of proto-social media, before Facebook, Twitter, etc. Halo Reach had the equivalent feature set as Halo 3 but tuned for more customization and user content that was easier to develop. Halo 3 polished up what Halo 2 did but also added more robust custom games, Forge, theater (that you could watch with up to 4 friends over XBL), and playlists that tailored towards different tastes in the community. Halo 2 transferred that same logic to online play, effectively re-creating that in-person social feel thru Xbox Live. Halo CE blew up because it was a social game that you'd play with your friends on a small CRT TV and potentially have LAN parties with gameplay that was top class. On top of all that, hone in on social features.
